PLN #1

The article "2 Held in Smash-and-Grab Burglaries" by the Denver Post, matters because the crime committed affect the salons that were stolen from, and the people who work at those salons. The salons lost the profits stolen and the workers usually have to pay the price in order to keep their jobs.
The burglaries were committed by a young couple, Michael Lowry and Lauren Polzine. They took act in these crimes on account of Polzine needing the money because of Lowry facing jail time in another case. It's quite ironic that Polzine and Lowry decided to gain the money by committing a crime because of a crime that was committed earlier by Lowry. Who would risk the chance of going to jail even longer than they really have to, just to get money, even if it's for a loved one? It just doesn't make sense.
This article can open the eyes to anyone in the world who reads it because the report shows that crimes can happen anywhere and it can be either thousand of miles away from where someone lives to only a few blocks away. It's a scary thought and most people don't pay attention to the risk of a burglary happening around them because it usually happens far far away.
