PLN #2

A small homemade bomb went off on Sunday in Firestone, Colorado a few weeks ago. The report "Police Suspect Children Behind Homemade Explosives," tells the summary of the bombs' blew up. The bombs were made with common bathroom and kitchen chemicals, which shows that even a child can make a bomb using chemicals that are found in almost all houses. Also, this report should make people more conscious about what can be accessed by a child, in their house, so events like this don't happen.
In the short story "The Lady or the Tiger," by Frank R. Stockton, the princess has to make a choice. This chose is similar, in ways, to the choice the people who set off the homemade bombs. The princess has to chose whether or not to let her lover die or live, and the supposed children had the choice of whether or not to set off the bomb. In both situations someone either gets hurt or not.
In the world around us things like this can happen everyday and it can only be prevented if people want it to.

The article "2 Held in Smash-and-Grab Burglaries" by the Denver Post, matters because the crime committed affect the salons that were stolen from, and the people who work at those salons. The salons lost the profits stolen and the workers usually have to pay the price in order to keep their jobs.
The burglaries were committed by a young couple, Michael Lowry and Lauren Polzine. They took act in these crimes on account of Polzine needing the money because of Lowry facing jail time in another case. It's quite ironic that Polzine and Lowry decided to gain the money by committing a crime because of a crime that was committed earlier by Lowry. Who would risk the chance of going to jail even longer than they really have to, just to get money, even if it's for a loved one? It just doesn't make sense.
This article can open the eyes to anyone in the world who reads it because the report shows that crimes can happen anywhere and it can be either thousand of miles away from where someone lives to only a few blocks away. It's a scary thought and most people don't pay attention to the risk of a burglary happening around them because it usually happens far far away.
